Pippa and Captain
This image perfectly captures the mood of Olivia's two-year project working on a book of poetry with Michael and Clare Morpurgo. Clare chose work by poets from William Blake to Ted Huges, and from Seamus Heaney to Edward Thomas. Michael wrote an accompanying text describing a young girl's morning ride in the Devon countryside and that combination gave Olivia the chance to produce some glorious work, using many different styles.
The book was called "Where My Wellies Take Me", published by Templar, and it has become a classic of poetry for children.
This image, Pippa and Captain, illustrates the poem 'Chicken' by Walter de la Mare and is currently featured in the Seven Stories Morpurgo exhibition. It was used for the cover of the paperback edition and we are now offering it as a high-quality giclee print, signed and numbered by Olivia from an edition of 95.
