During the 80's and 90's, John divided his time between science fiction and a deluge of commissions for evocative landscape paintings for covers of travel books and romantic fiction.
Always interested in different locations around the world, this gave him a chance to produce some beautiful atmospheric paintings where a faraway place is there to give the story a setting.
