The Book Thief
Alexis was delighted when he was commissioned by The Folio Society to produce illustrations for a limited edition of this much-loved book by Markus Zusak. There will also be a separate core edition with a slipcase, both published in 2024.
The setting of Nazi Germany gave Alexis the chance to produce some chilling illustrations but at the same time to tap into the intimacy of family life. He was thrilled that the author was so pleased with his ideas:
